Pajama Day Again

Brushing teeth as we get ready for school.  Both kids weirdly love to brush

Last month Charlie's afternoon school had PJs and Pancakes Day at school, which he loved.  This month it was the morning school.  Since Anna goes there too, both kids got to wear pajamas to school.  It was great not having to figure out what to dress them in for the cold weather, but they needed warmer pjs than they wore to bed, so I still had to get them dressed that morning.

Pajamas and bears.  Check and check.

Charlie was a little disappointed that there were not going to be pancakes at this school, but he was excited to find out that he got to bring a stuffed bear to spend the day with him.  The kids had their normal day at school but got to watch a movie at the end of the day, which they thought was so cool.  It was really cute seeing the school full of little kids all in pjs for the day.

No Posts in a While

I have not skipped on posting for lack of material around here!  My computer has broken down, so it is at Best Buy being repaired which takes a while.  I'm hoping to have it back in the next few days.  Also, we snuck in another trip back to Florida and just got home tonight.  It was a wonderful time!  I'll be sure to start back up with stuff about the kids any day now, as soon as my computer comes home.

Charlie's Dinner Party

Charlie and Hattie watching a movie

We have lots of friends with kids around our kids' ages.  The other night we had two of those families over: the Helveys and the Brunes.  The Helveys have two girls aged 3 and almost 2.  The Brunes have two boys aged 3 and 1.  Charlie was so excited to have so many friends over.  The excitement was almost too much for Anna!  She stayed up for about an hour and then crashed for the night.  It was a lot of fun to see the kids playing and eating together.

It's January?? Really??

I can't believe we are playing outside in 50 degree weather in Jan

Out back on the play set

The weather this winter has been amazing.  It is January, and we have been in the high fifties, with lots of sunshine and little wind.  I have been trying to get the kids outside to play most afternoons.  They love being out there running around and playing on the swing set.  It's crazy how nice it has been outside lately.

Anna can actually somewhat play soccer with us now.  She's a pretty good kicker already

Unfortunately, it looks like our good weather may be coming to an end shortly.  Tonight it should start turning to actual winter with snow.  The one plus side for us is that Saturday we head back to Florida!

IHOP and Lego Table

IHOP for brunch

She has to do whatever her big brother is doing

Sunday morning we decided to hit up IHOP for brunch since we did not have much to do.  Luckily the wait was not too long since the kids were getting hungry.  They had a great time eating pancakes, ham, and some eggs.   Both of them really loved Daddy that morning, so I got some quiet time on my side of the booth while they badgered Zach.

Charlie loves his Daddy

Me and my girl

That afternoon we went to Toys R Us and got the kids a Lego table.  We have the large Legos (Duplos) all over the house.  We try to keep them in a big bin in our living room for the kids to build with, but mostly Anna just pulls them out and throws them everywhere.  The Duplos were getting to be such a pain since the kids weren't really using them too much.

Getting the table set up

The kids just love it

Anna plays with it as soon as she gets up in the morning

So, we thought getting a table for them would help a lot.  We found one at the toy store with two drawers on the sides, so the kids each can have their own supply of the Legos.  It came with two chairs also.  The table isn't all that big, but it works well enough.  Now instead of throwing the Legos all over, the kids actually sit and build with them.  Anna is really loving the table, and I catch her over there all day long.  Hopefully their enthusiasm keeps up and it doesn't just become one big mess again.

I told Anna it was nap time, and she waved her hand at me!  She wanted to play at her new table instead.  She is one sassy girl

Science City 1/7/12

Landing planes at Science City

Zach and I were really busy on Thurs and Friday.  In addition to work, we had plans both nights with friends.  Saturday Zach actually was not on call, and we had nothing major to do for once.  So we decided to check out Science City museum up at Union Station.  The best part was we found out it was free to Bank of America customers for the weekend.

Very small playground area
The kids were really excited to see all the different places to explore when we got there.  There were a bunch of smaller rooms with stuff to do, and then some larger open areas.  The museum is definitely in need of some updating, but overall it was okay.  Not somewhere we could take the kids too often because they would get bored, but it was good for a day when nothing else was planned.

Charlie was so pleased to climb up all by himself

Then of course Anna wanted to try

On the fake bus with Daddy

We prefer Wonderscope by far to Science City, but it was fun to try out someplace new.

They loved banging the drums

Alligator puzzle

There wasn't much here.  Just rolling 3 balls down ramps.  We couldn't pull them away!

Enough fun to wear Anna out

"Talk to the Tushy"

For Christmas my Aunt Debra bought Charlie a Marc Jacobs shirt.  It says "Yes!" on the front across the chest.  On the back, across the tush, it says "No..."  Charlie is loving this shirt!  He wears it all the time and answers by either sticking his chest or his tushy out.  I'm not quite as amused as he is by this, especially since he has started saying "Talk to the Tushy."  We are going to have to discuss this!
